“ONE DISCOVERS THE LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS, THAT IS WHAT THE DARKNESS IS FOR” – JAMES BALDWIN

Phoebe Oliver

Headed by Phoebe Oliver, The Equine Collective brings together years of experience in PR with an equally long record and passion in horses.

Phoebe’s connection with horses began at the age of two when she was first placed on the family pony, Monkey. Despite Monkey’s unpredictable and somewhat grumpy nature, a deep bond formed, igniting her love for all things equine. Her youth was dominated by  pony club, followed by show jumping competitions, one-day events, and attending Badminton with her long suffering mother. Whilst her own equestrian endeavours may not have been marked by significant competitive successes, her passion for horses remained unwavering.

In 2015, Phoebe fulfilled a childhood dream by establishing a livery stable on the grounds of the Old Lewes Racecourse. This endeavour gave rise to a trekking business offering guided tours across the South Downs, visits to vineyards, and stately homes. It also included a pony party business and a horse therapy charity that provided a safe space for troubled pupils from local schools.

Phoebe’s overarching passion has always been to help people discover the myriad gifts that horses can bring into one’s life, so when the darkness of the Covid-19 pandemic descended (along with the challenges it posed to her travel-related businesses)  the concept of The Equine Collective was conceived.
